Snow on Clinton Reservoir

MPatterson

Pete and myself decided to go fishing for the day with the blessing from the wives. It was supposed to be a high of 50 and cloudy. What a great day to go fishing right? As soon as we pulled up the wind was howling and it was 37 degrees. Thank GOD we bought layers and neoprene waiters served me well in the boat. None the less we headed out and had a great time with wind blowing us all over and it was even difficult keeping straight with a trolling motor. Our first fish was a nice bass that was bought to the boat and let it self off. We decided to count that one on account of battling the elements. It had gotten bad enough that we tethered our boat to a rock face and fished while blocked by the wind. We threw out shiners on bobbers and also sunk some to the bottom. The bobber rig (one of my ingenious ingenuity) ended up catching a 4 LB 24 inch pickerel. Very very nice fish. After some time we headed to the other side of the lake but caught nothing. Wind was howling snow was blowing and it was getting late. So we decided to head in. On our way in luck gave us one more small perch to end our day. It was cold, it was snowing, we caught fish. Can't wait to get out again!
